CWG EXCOs Visit to the University of Lagos

CWG’s excos recently visited the University Of Lagos on invitation by the VC of the University. For Austin Okere, CWG’s CEO, it was a unique return to his Alma mater and one filled with nostalgic experiences. CWG will be building a Technology Park, developing hotspots within the university and instituting Austin Okere’s yearly inaugural lecture at the institution.

CWL Systems Partners NetApp On Cloud Computing


NetApp, a global storage and solutions company, recently hosted its customers and partners to an event which took place at the Civic Centre, Lagos Nigeria. NetApp Innovation 2010 was the fifth in a role in which the company will be organizing. In showcasing recent innovative technologies to companies across industries, CWL Systems, Computer Warehouse Group’s hardware and infrastructure division is one of NetApp’s strategic partners in Nigeria. In a quest to tackling the challenges and changes of ICT in Nigeria and meet up with the changes in customer needs, CWL Systems, in partnership with NetApp have come together to provide a solution on cloud computing which offers IT departments of organisations elastic scalability, a pay as you go model, predictable cost structure, better operational efficiency, data access anytime and anywhere. Cloud computing provides a model that enhances and responds to the requirement by most businesses today for IT to improve efficiency, thereby doing more at less cost. Mr. Phillip Obioha, Chief Operating Officer for CWG has stated that the company’s managed service is positioned to support cloud computing within the West African region.

The COO explained that “small and medium scale organisations would benefit from this Solution as it provides a method where by payment is made on a monthly basis and an environment is created whereby the required infrastructure is constructed at a third party location. DCC Networks Attain Cisco Silver Partnership

DCC Networks, the communications division of Computer Warehouse Group recently attained a new status with Cisco, the global networking and Communications Company. The Cisco Channel certification unit on Monday, 15th March 2010, announced DCC Networks as Cisco Silver Certified Partner in West English Africa. In recognizing DCC Network’s strength in support, personnel, specialization and customer satisfaction, the Cisco team explained that DCC “has demonstrated that it is qualified to sell, install and support Cisco Solutions in West English Africa”. This certification places DCC Networks and CWG LTD as a group as one of the leading providers of Cisco Solutions in Nigeria and indeed, the West African region. On the shoulders of a team of Cisco experts working in DCC networks, Cisco solutions are provided, supported and managed across the financial sector, oil & gas and manufacturing sectors in Lagos and CWG’s regional offices which include Port-Harcourt, Abuja and Ghana.

The very elated DGM of DCC Networks, Oladipo Raji, could not contain his joy as he poured out praises on these members of staff on attaining this feat, ‘I must place on record that you people are a unique set of incredible human beings on the face of the earth found only in DCC’. Raji continued by extolling virtues in his staff, ‘your passion, commitment and determination to make almost anything happen is equal to none’. Austin Okere, CWG’s group CEO has commended both the team and its leadership on this feat. He has also encouraged them to not rest on their oars, but continue to improve the services provided to the customers and prepare to attain Gold partnership with Cisco.  DCC Networks a few years ago, was awarded by Cisco with the second tier partner of the year award in emerging markets in Africa as the company recorded then the highest Cisco sales in Emerging Africa.
